all the houses

the hall is lit
by brand new fluorescent bulbs

no sweeping
is necessary:
cleanliness is godliness.

all the windows
shine with blue
and the food
is quite heavenly
cooked
in
iridescent ovens.

no fear in the smell
of eucalyptus
no deception
in the sturdy staircase
no hidden jokes
in the trustworthy
attic.

still, the front
door
is painfully reluctant:
its hinges
are rusty
and so conspicuously
harmed
like the touch of a hand
on a grave
covered with sand
or those swollen
eyes
which had lost their surprise
after they perceived
how empty
all the
houses really
are.

oh please, don’t drop me home, because it’s not my home, it’s their home and i’m welcome no more…

O vazio está em todo lugar quando falta alguém. Preciso dizer que o texto me lembrou a perda dessa semana?

Adorei essa. De verdade. Acho que vou até twittar.
